Sharjah has formed the Sharjah Family and Community Council and the Sharjah Hospitality Group, both chaired by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher, to enhance family services, community empowerment, and reinvest hospitality revenues in social development.
SHARJAH: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued two new Emiri Decrees establishing the Sharjah Family and Community Council and the Sharjah Hospitality Group. Both initiatives aim to strengthen the emirate’s social development strategy and expand community-based services.
The Sharjah Family and Community Council will serve as the central authority on family affairs, community initiatives, and policies affecting women, children, and youth. Chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the council will unify the work of several existing entities under one structure and guide strategic planning in fields including media, culture, sports, crafts, and social services.
The council replaces the former Supreme Council for Family Affairs and will coordinate efforts of affiliated institutions such as the Big Heart Foundation, Nama Women Advancement Establishment, Sharjah Women Sports, Sharjah Business Women Council, and others. It is tasked with protecting family cohesion, promoting national identity, and empowering women and youth across the emirate.
In parallel, the Sharjah Hospitality Group was established to manage and expand the emirate’s hospitality sector. Also chaired by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher, the group will develop hospitality policy, manage key venues like the Sharjah Ladies Club and Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, and reinvest revenues into humanitarian and community welfare projects.
The new group will serve as an economic and social pillar, advancing sustainable hospitality services aligned with international standards and supporting long-term community wellbeing through reinvestment of its resources.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher emphasised that both entities reflect Sharjah’s decades-long commitment to human development and cultural excellence. She highlighted the importance of institutional flexibility in adapting to a fast-changing world while continuing to invest in the emirate’s people—especially its youth.
