ABU DHABI: The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) has issued a public warning urging residents, citizens, and visitors to avoid using unauthorised immigration services promoted on social media. The alert comes in response to rising concerns over fake online ads that falsely claim to offer expedited UAE government services.
According to agencies, the Authority emphasised that all legitimate services are available only through official channels. These include the Authority’s official website, smart application, and authorised service centres and typing offices nationwide.
The Authority clarified that it has not partnered with any third-party companies advertising on social media, and any claim to offer faster processing or reduced requirements is entirely false. These fraudulent companies are targeting individuals with deceptive offers to collect service fees without legal authorisation.
The warning comes amid reports of several websites and social media accounts engaging in illegal activities by misusing the ICP’s name and offering unofficial immigration-related services. These entities create a false sense of urgency and exploit people seeking to apply for visas, residency, or other official procedures.
Officials stated that such practices not only damage the Authority’s reputation but also pose security risks and encourage black-market activity. The Authority confirmed it is actively monitoring these operations and is working closely with legal bodies to take necessary actions against offenders.
Residents and visitors are strongly advised to verify service providers and rely solely on approved government channels. The ICP reiterated its commitment to ensuring user-friendly and secure access to official services through its recognised platforms.
