Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid marks UAE Flag Day at DIFC with students and iconic tribute to Zayed and Rashid.
DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the UAE Flag Day ceremony held at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), reaffirming national pride and unity at a landmark event.
Organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in collaboration with DIFC, the celebration brought together 150 students from various Dubai schools to participate in the symbolic raising of the UAE flag. The event was hosted in front of The Gate Building, which featured a remarkable 15-storey artwork under the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, paying homage to the UAE’s founding leaders—the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that the UAE flag represents pride, progress, and dignity, and reflects the continued development of the nation under the leadership of President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
He highlighted the values instilled by the Founding Fathers, noting that their legacy forms the foundation of the Union and inspires the country’s unique model of development and humanitarianism. “The UAE flag will always be a symbol of our unity and achievements. Our journey continues stronger and more united than ever,” he said.
The Prime Minister also reflected on the role of every citizen in nation-building. “True belonging is shown through hard work, dedication, and success in every field,” he added, underscoring the UAE’s progress in sectors ranging from education and economy to innovation and space.
The UAE Flag Day, launched in 2013 by Sheikh Mohammed, is observed annually on 3rd November to honour the country’s unity and sovereignty. It also marks the beginning of the National Month campaign, which runs until Eid Al Etihad on 2nd December, celebrating national identity and achievements through a series of public engagements and events.
