The UAE’s Chief AI Officers concluded a US knowledge tour of top tech firms, boosting digital strategies and the GCC’s AI leadership.
WASHINGTON, D.C.: The UAE’s Chief AI Officers have wrapped up an unprecedented knowledge tour across the United States, visiting 13 of the world’s leading technology companies. The initiative, led by the UAE Government and organised by the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, marked the first of its kind for the region, reinforcing the country’s role in global innovation.
Designed to elevate digital capabilities, the programme provided the delegation with over 20 interactive sessions on AI technologies, digital transformation, and strategic planning. It was aimed at enriching national expertise and shaping smart government services aligned with the UAE’s GCC AI leadership ambitions.

The delegation included high-level figures such as Mohammed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services, and Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity. They visited global tech giants including Google, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Palantir, NVIDIA, Amazon, IBM, and Cohere. Each stop featured deep dives into emerging technologies—from Google’s AI agents and Meta’s wearable tech to NVIDIA’s industrial simulations and Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry.
At OpenAI, the UAE delegation experienced Emirati-focused ChatGPT demos, while Amazon showcased AI automation and innovations like Amazon Go. Microsoft hosted sessions on AI-powered productivity tools like Copilot and cloud data sovereignty.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, stressed that this initiative supports the UAE’s strategic vision to lead globally in AI by 2031. It enhances local capabilities, enables future-ready governance, and encourages cross-border collaboration.
This GCC AI leadership tour builds on the Cabinet’s move to establish AI roles across ministries, ensuring that UAE remains agile, informed, and at the forefront of digital excellence.
