The UAE will see unstable weather from Wednesday to Friday, with rain, thunder, and possible hail, says the National Centre of Meteorology.

ABU DHABI: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned that a low-pressure system moving into the UAE will bring unstable weather conditions between Wednesday and Friday this week.

According to forecasters, the country is being affected by the extension of both surface and upper-level low-pressure systems from the south, combined with the northward movement of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). This shift will pull a moist air mass from the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman, setting the stage for unsettled weather.

The NCM said that convective clouds are expected to develop over the eastern and southern regions, extending into some internal areas. These clouds could bring rainfall of varying intensities, along with occasional lightning, thunder, and even small hail — particularly on Wednesday and Thursday.

Winds are forecast to blow from the southeast to northeast, generally moderate but strengthening at times alongside the convective clouds. Strong gusts may kick up dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility in some areas.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will remain slight to moderate, though caution is advised for offshore activities.

The NCM has urged the public to follow official forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas during periods of unstable weather.
