The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka closed with over 5 million visitors and a BIE Bronze Award for its inspiring architecture and vision.

OSAKA: The UAE Pavilion officially concluded its six-month journey at Expo 2025 Osaka with a heartfelt closing ceremony, celebrating its people, partners, and the enduring message of shared futures. The Pavilion welcomed more than 5 million visitors, making it one of the Expo’s most visited international pavilions, and won Bronze in Architecture and Landscape from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

The Pavilion’s total included 4.9 million in-person visitors, 113,000 digital website viewers, and over 17,000 virtual Expo participants. The finale brought together Pavilion staff, Emirati and Japanese Youth Ambassadors, and its four Official Partners: ADNOC, PureHealth, Space42, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

“This Pavilion was a living encounter between cultures and ideas,” said HE Shihab Alfaheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion. “We thank every visitor who joined our journey. The connection and dialogue we shared here will continue to guide us well beyond Osaka.”

Located in the Empowering Lives Zone, the Pavilion was themed ‘Earth to Ether’, drawing inspiration from the date palm tree to showcase UAE-led stories in space exploration, healthcare, sustainability, and culture. The design, awarded by BIE, was recognised for its architectural depth and storytelling impact.

A key moment of the Pavilion’s run was UAE National Day on September 19, attended by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, which united thousands in cultural celebration and high-level diplomacy.

The Pavilion hosted numerous cultural showcases, youth-led forums, and delegations, reinforcing the UAE’s role in bridging ideas for a sustainable future. The legacy of the UAE at World Expos — from Osaka 1970 to Expo 2020 Dubai, and now Expo 2025 Osaka — continues with a vision where tradition meets transformation.
