DP World job creation surges with 5,000 new roles in 2025 through global infrastructure projects across five countries.

DUBAI: Global logistics leader DP World has announced the creation of nearly 5,000 new construction jobs across four continents, as part of a $2.5 billion investment to strengthen global trade infrastructure throughout 2025. This expansion supports major upgrades in India, the UK, Ecuador, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo, reaffirming the company’s position as a driver of sustainable growth.

India will benefit the most, with over 2,000 construction jobs emerging from the new terminal development at Tuna Tekra and an additional 500 roles from rail and inland terminal projects. These initiatives are key to enhancing India’s logistics backbone.

Tuna Tekra is a large container terminal being built near Kandla in Gujarat, on India’s west coast. It is a joint project between UAE-based DP World and India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF). The terminal will help connect northern, western, and central India to international markets, making trade and transport faster and more efficient.

DP World’s Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, confirmed the economic impact of the programme: “We are delighted that our investment is providing jobs for almost 5,000 people this year alone to help deliver major upgrades to the transport infrastructure of five different countries.”

In Senegal, the construction of a deep-sea port at Ndayane is generating 600 jobs, set to power national development for decades. Meanwhile, the Democratic Republic of Congo will see 500 roles at the Port of Banana, the country’s first-ever deep-sea port.

In the United Kingdom, the $1 billion expansion of London Gateway will create 1,000 new jobs. This includes two new berths and a second rail terminal, making it the largest port in Britain by 2030. Over in Ecuador, the expansion of DP World Posorja adds 300 construction jobs and over 100 direct operational roles.

Beyond immediate employment, these projects will generate long-term economic uplift and strengthen regional connectivity. Already employing over 100,000 globally, DP World’s efforts underline its mission to make trade flow while building future-ready economies.
