GAZA: A devastating update from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reveals that Gaza has received no humanitarian or commercial supplies for over seven weeks. The Gaza humanitarian crisis is now at its worst point since October 2023, according to the agency.

The Gaza humanitarian crisis has intensified following the closure of all crossing points, triggering severe shortages of food, water, shelter, and medical care. UNRWA emphasized this is the longest aid suspension since the conflict began, pushing Gaza’s residents deeper into emergency conditions.

The blockade has also caused prices of essential goods to skyrocket, leaving many without access to basic necessities. UNRWA reported that only 57 percent of essential medicines are currently available, with supplies for just a month or less. Alarmingly, two-thirds of medical stock is expected to run out within two months.

Meanwhile, the Gaza humanitarian crisis has worsened as the Israeli blockade prevents the movement of supplies from southern Gaza to northern areas. This restriction is further crippling humanitarian operations and delaying urgent assistance.

Despite these enormous challenges, UNRWA continues to operate nine health centres and 39 medical points, providing around 16,000 medical consultations daily — the highest number among all healthcare providers in Gaza.

The Gaza humanitarian crisis highlights the extreme vulnerability of civilians, many of whom are now trapped without essential life-support systems. UNRWA and other aid organizations are urging for immediate access to deliver life-saving supplies.

As the situation deteriorates, the international community is being called upon to act swiftly to prevent a full-scale humanitarian collapse.
