The UAE welcomed the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, praising the leaders’ commitment to dialogue and peaceful coexistence.


ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the announcement of the historic peace agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, describing it as a significant diplomatic milestone that strengthens the principles of good neighbourliness and peaceful coexistence.

Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State, commended the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, noting their dedication to achieving peace through dialogue. He emphasised that the agreement reflects the strong will of both nations to resolve differences through peaceful means.

Al Sayegh also acknowledged the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in facilitating this achievement, describing it as a constructive step towards lasting stability in the Caucasus region. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote security and peace.

Highlighting the UAE’s longstanding ties with both Armenia and Azerbaijan, Al Sayegh expressed hope that the agreement will usher in a new era of cooperation, growth, and prosperity for the two nations. He said such efforts align with the UAE’s vision of promoting dialogue, development, and mutual understanding to advance regional progress.
