ABU DHABI: UAE has sent a plane loaded with relief aid to the Philippines. This is part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to help countries in times of need. The aid comes in response to the devastating landslides and floods caused by Typhoon Carina, which led to significant loss of life and property damage.
Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, highlighted the UAE leadership’s dedication to providing urgent humanitarian support worldwide. She stated, “Our President’s decision to send aid to the Philippines shows the UAE’s commitment to solidarity and partnership. We are always ready to offer help during crises and natural disasters. This aid is part of our efforts to enhance international cooperation and support those affected by disasters.”
Al Hashimy also said, “The people of the UAE stand with the people of the Philippines in facing the aftermath of the typhoon. This gesture shows our support and appreciation for the Filipino community in the UAE, who contribute greatly to our country’s growth.”

She emphasised the strong and historic ties between the UAE and the Philippines, stating that the aid reflects the depth of these relationships. Al Hashimy expressed confidence in the ability of the Philippines’ government and people to effectively manage and recover from the typhoon’s impact.
The UAE’s relief efforts aim to provide immediate aid to those affected by the natural disaster, which resulted in several deaths and the displacement of thousands of people now in temporary evacuation centres.
