AL AIN: Al Ain Zoo is marking International Tiger Day, observed every 29th July, by spotlighting its expanding efforts in protecting endangered species and raising public awareness about biodiversity. This year’s celebrations focus on the Amur tiger, offering guests a rare and educational wildlife experience.

Visitors are invited to join the Amur tiger experience every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 10:00 AM. The sessions feature enrichment presentations and exclusive talks by the animal care team, who provide fascinating insights into the behaviours and traits of the critically endangered Amur tiger. The event also highlights the global conservation efforts to prevent the subspecies from disappearing.

Central to the celebrations is the new Amur Tiger Habitat—a dynamic exhibit that mimics the tiger’s native landscape. It features outdoor zones with shaded rest areas, cooling platforms, misting systems, ponds, and cave shelters, all designed to meet the highest standards of animal welfare. Guests also gain access to an interactive training area that promotes learning and engagement for visitors of all ages.

Al Ain Zoo is home to several rare big cats including the Amur tiger, Arabian leopard, Bengal tiger, and Jaguar. It plays a key role in conservation through advanced animal care, public education, and advocacy initiatives.

During the summer months, the Zoo enhances guest comfort with seasonal initiatives such as a free vehicle service running across the park until August 2025. Year-round experiences include giraffe feeding, lemur interactions, bird and reptile encounters, and storytelling sessions featuring Arabian wildlife.

Visitors also enjoy access to the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre and Al Ain Safari, combining educational exploration with outdoor adventure. Through its commitment to conservation, animal welfare, and public involvement, Al Ain Zoo continues to establish itself as a leading environmental destination in the UAE.
