DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started testing a new smart inspection vehicle. This vehicle uses advanced technology and cameras to monitor rail areas, looking out for violations, restricted activities, and any damage.
The goal of this new vehicle is to make the daily inspection of Dubai Metro and Tram networks easier and more efficient by using modern technology.
Abdulrahman Al Janahi, the Director of Rail Right of Way at RTA’s Rail Agency, explained that this smart inspection vehicle was developed with the help of the Smart Services Department. He said, “This new technology will not only make our inspections more efficient but also help us find and fix problems quickly, ensuring our rail services are safe and reliable. The vehicle uses artificial intelligence to stay updated with our rail network.”
This initiative aims to cover all inspection areas thoroughly, speed up the process of creating inspection reports, and make sure the results are reliable. It also hopes to reduce human errors in inspections and support better decision-making.
Al Janahi also mentioned that this project shows RTA’s dedication to using smart solutions to improve how they operate and keep the infrastructure safe. The smart inspection vehicle is expected to make rail inspections more effective by providing complete coverage and quick reporting of any issues.
