MANAMA: The UAE national basketball team earned a proud third-place finish at the 26th Arab Basketball Championship for national teams, taking home the bronze medal as the tournament wrapped up in Bahrain.

The event, which brought together seven national teams – including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia – followed a single round-robin format. Throughout the championship, each team played six matches, accumulating points to determine the final rankings.

Algeria emerged as the champions with an unbeaten 12-point tally, followed closely by Tunisia in second place with 11 points. The UAE finished with 9 points, securing a commendable third position and a well-deserved bronze medal.

This achievement marks a significant step for UAE basketball on the regional stage and reflects the team’s dedication and growing skill. The players displayed consistent performances, tactical discipline, and strong teamwork throughout the tournament.
