Two-year-old Laurent Schwarz, dubbed the Mini Picasso, from Germany is making waves in the art world with this toddler’s vibrant abstract paintings, which may have sold for as much as $7,000. Laurent’s work blends abstract forms with recognisable animal figures like elephants, dinosaurs, and horses. His favourite subject? Elephants, of course!
Laurent’s artistic journey began during a family vacation last year when he discovered a passion for painting at the resort’s activity room. Once home, his parents set up a dedicated art studio where he could unleash his creativity. His mum, Lisa, says Laurent has a clear preference for bright, bold colours and avoids anything “boring.”
Inspired by her son’s raw talent, Lisa created an Instagram account, @laurents.art, to showcase his masterpieces. The account quickly blew up, gaining over 29,000 followers. Thanks to his growing popularity, Lisa started selling Laurent’s paintings online, and they’ve been snapped up by art lovers and collectors alike.
One of his most recent paintings sold for an incredible $7,000 at a charity auction. It’s a colourful abstract piece, full of life and creativity, and it’s turning heads in the art world. His mix of vibrant colours and animal-inspired shapes is unique, and people are loving it!
