The Indian Consulate in Dubai launches new Passport Seva portal for e-passport applications, offering easier processing and enhanced security.
DUBAI: The Consulate General of India, Dubai, has officially announced the rollout of the Global Passport Seva Programme (GPSP 2.0) across the UAE from 28 October 2025. All Indian nationals in the UAE seeking passport services are now required to use the new GPSP 2.0 online portal for faster, digital-first processing and access to upgraded e-passports.
Applicants must visit the newly launched portal https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/gpsp/AuthNavigation/Login to begin the application process. First, users must register, log in, generate their application, and print the form after submission. Once this is complete, they can book an appointment via BLS International at https://indiavisa.blsinternational.com/uae/appointment/bls_appmnt/login and visit the centre with the necessary documents.

Among the notable updates in the PSP 2.0 rollout is the introduction of e-passports for all applicants. These enhanced security documents feature an embedded chip with digitised personal information, allowing for faster and more secure processing at immigration checkpoints.
The new system also enables applicants to upload ICAO-compliant photographs, signatures, and supporting documents online, significantly reducing wait times at BLS Centres. Guidelines for uploading compliant photos can be found on the Consulate’s website here.
Additionally, applicants needing minor corrections in their forms will no longer be required to re-enter data. BLS staff can now correct such errors in the backend at no extra cost, making the process smoother and more efficient.
The Indian e-passport upgrade in the UAE under GPSP 2.0 is a significant digital leap that simplifies document access, ensures secure global travel, and brings consular services in line with global standards.
