Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, extended congratulations to Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on his reappointment as India’s External Affairs Minister. Today, they met in Abu Dhabi for a working dinner to discuss strengthening the enduring friendship between their countries.

During their meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Jaishankar reviewed the progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation under the comprehensive strategic and economic partnership between the UAE and India. They explored ways to enhance joint efforts across economic, trade, investment, education, culture, health, food security, renewable energy, and climate change sectors.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the robust and strategic partnership between the UAE and India, which continues to grow stronger. He highlighted that this collaboration aims at achieving comprehensive development and sustainable economic prosperity for both nations and their people.

The UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), launched in May 2022, was noted for significantly boosting economic and trade cooperation, aligning with the national development goals of both countries.

They also discussed potential collaboration within international organizations and exchanged views on current regional and global developments, including the Middle East situation.

Sheikh Abdullah underscored that elevating bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2017 has deepened their ties, built on mutual understanding, trust, respect, and shared interests.

Overall, the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both leaders to further strengthen and expand the multifaceted relationship between the UAE and India across various fields for mutual benefit and regional stability.
