DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to advancing sustainable development, focusing on nurturing human talent, following the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He emphasised the Council’s efforts to foster a new generation of media leaders by collaborating with partners to nurture talent that can drive growth in the industry. Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the importance of media institutions in inspiring young talent and providing opportunities for them to innovate.
During a meeting of the Dubai Media Council, Sheikh Ahmed reviewed the progress of various media initiatives, including leadership and training programmes. The meeting also explored strategies to enhance partnerships with media institutions and universities to train future media professionals.
On the sidelines, Sheikh Ahmed met with recipients of the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students,’ praising their academic excellence and encouraging them to develop skills to shape the media industry. The scholarship aims to increase Emirati participation in the media sector, aligning with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global media hub.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the DMC, stated that the Council is dedicated to nurturing national media talent and innovation, which strengthens Dubai’s media industry. Nehal Badri added that investing in human capital is crucial for enhancing the sector’s competitiveness and that scholarship recipients will play a key role in the industry’s future.

The Council is expanding the scholarship by partnering with top universities and considering adding Master’s programmes to further support aspiring media professionals.
