Focus keyphrase Etihad Rail Citymapper UAE: Etihad Rail partners with United Trans and Via to bring seamless rail-to-mobility journeys through Citymapper across UAE.
ABU DHABI: In a bold step toward smarter mobility, Etihad Rail has announced a strategic partnership with United Trans and global transport tech firm Via to integrate the UAE’s national railway network into Citymapper — a top-tier journey planning app. The move is set to revolutionise Etihad Rail Citymapper UAE connectivity by offering passengers an all-in-one platform for planning multimodal travel.
Through this initiative, commuters will be able to combine Etihad Rail journeys with metro, bus, micromobility, and on-demand transit options, all seamlessly navigated through the Citymapper app. Real-time schedules, fare transparency, and optimised routing will offer riders an intuitive way to compare transport modes and reduce travel time across cities and emirates.
“This reflects our vision for a modern, integrated transport system that elevates the passenger experience,” said Azza Alsuwaidi, Deputy CEO of Etihad Rail Mobility. “By collaborating with United Trans and Via, we are positioning rail as the backbone of UAE’s public transport network.”
The Etihad Rail Citymapper UAE partnership also includes plans to enable first- and last-mile connectivity using Via’s flexible, on-demand mobility tech — already operating successfully in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman through United Trans. The aim is to give communities, business parks and employment hubs reliable access to rail, without needing private cars.
Chris Snyder, COO at Via, called the initiative “a unified digital layer for mobility” that connects every part of the UAE’s transport ecosystem into a seamless, rider-centric experience.
By bringing the Citymapper app to Etihad Rail, the partnership advances the UAE’s national goal of becoming a global leader in intermodal smart mobility — reducing congestion, improving travel efficiency, and making shared transport more appealing.
