Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid inaugurates GITEX Global 2025, highlighting the UAE’s AI ambitions and digital transformation goals.

DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, officially opened the 45th edition of GITEX Global 2025, marking another major milestone in the UAE’s push for digital transformation. The event is hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre and runs until 17th October.

The event, which has grown into the world’s largest technology and artificial intelligence showcase, is hosting over 6,800 technology companies and 2,000 startups from more than 180 countries. During the tour, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid visited key international and local pavilions, including those of Amazon Web Services, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and UAE-based firms like e& and G42.

Highlighting the UAE’s vision, Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the country’s commitment to building a digital economy. He noted that Dubai aims to increase the digital sector’s contribution to AED100 billion annually by 2033. He said, “We want the UAE to be a global model in building an integrated digital economy driven by innovation, knowledge and artificial intelligence.”

At the European Innovation Council pavilion, H.H. was briefed on 15 innovation-driven companies exploring partnerships. The event also showcased cutting-edge technologies such as flying cars, electric air taxis, autonomous vehicles and AI-powered robotics.

GITEX Global 2025 focuses on critical topics like AI infrastructure, policy frameworks, sustainable digital growth and global innovation. It plays a strategic role in the UAE’s national agendas, including the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, the UAE Vision 2031 and the Dubai Blockchain Strategy.

With participation from global decision-makers, tech giants, and investors, GITEX continues to reinforce Dubai’s role as a central innovation hub and a leader in shaping the digital future.
