GITEX announces its first Latin American edition in São Paulo, as the region’s digital economy targets a US$950 billion boost.
DUBAI: GITEX, the world’s largest and most influential tech investment show brand, has announced its expansion into Latin America with the launch of GITEX LATAM in São Paulo, Brazil. The move positions Latin America’s emerging digital economy, projected to reach nearly US$950 billion by 2026, for a major global transformation.
The announcement was made during GITEX GLOBAL 2025, currently underway in Dubai, with Brazil named the official Country Partner. With over 50 startups from Brazil and representation from Chile and Ecuador participating for the first time, Latin American innovation took centre stage at the show. São Paulo’s City Hall is also showcasing 10 startups, highlighting the region’s growing tech ecosystem.
Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in partnership with the São Paulo Development Agency (ADESAMPA), GITEX LATAM will debut from 16–17 March 2027 at Distrito Anhembi. It is the region’s first-ever global tech event, designed to fast-track Latin America’s integration into the global innovation economy.
Leveraging Brazil’s digital infrastructure, thriving startup environment, and forward-thinking tech policies, GITEX LATAM aims to be a catalyst for scaling regional investments, public-private partnerships, and cross-border collaboration. Ricardo Nunes, Mayor of São Paulo, hailed the event as a gateway for local innovators to access global opportunities, saying: “GITEX LATAM is a landmark catalyst enabling our finest innovators to meet global opportunities.”
Brazil is already a global leader in digital public infrastructure, with over 150 million citizens using unified digital services. The country is targeting a US$259 billion ICT market and a nearly US$100 billion AI industry by 2033. This positions GITEX LATAM as a powerful bridge to channel capital, innovation, and talent into the continent’s digital decade.
GITEX has rapidly expanded into a global network across 14 countries in just three years. The São Paulo edition will anchor a future-focused agenda on AI, cloud, agritech, cybersecurity, healthtech, and green energy—uniting startups, unicorns, policy leaders, and tech giants under one roof.
The event builds on the renewed strategic alliance between Brazil and the UAE, reaffirmed at the G20 Summit in 2024, where both countries pledged cooperation across emerging technologies, renewable energy, and innovation.
Rodrigo Goulart, São Paulo’s Secretary for Economic Development, summed up the excitement: “São Paulo awaits GITEX LATAM with tremendous anticipation… we are inspired to cultivate investor confidence and empower entrepreneurs and talent.”
