Dubai RTA introduces Madinati service on WhatsApp, letting users report infrastructure damage through Mahboub chatbot for faster response.
DUBAI: In a move to enhance digital civic engagement and urban maintenance, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched its Madinati smart reporting service through the Mahboub chatbot on WhatsApp. The initiative enables residents and visitors to report infrastructure damage quickly and easily—right from their phones.
With the launch of the Madinati damage-reporting service via WhatsApp chatbot Mahboub, users can now send photos and descriptions of damaged public transport or city infrastructure, such as pavements, traffic signs, bus shelters, and roadways. These are instantly forwarded to relevant RTA departments for prompt action, improving response time and community collaboration.
Part of RTA’s Strategy 2024–2030, the rollout supports Dubai’s goals to become a data-driven, agile, and technologically advanced smart city. It also strengthens the emirate’s positioning as a model for smart governance and participatory urban management.
Meera Al Shaikh, Director of Customer Happiness at RTA, stated that the Madinati service enhances the partnership between the public and the government by streamlining how issues are reported and resolved. “It underscores RTA’s commitment to improving quality of life and preserving Dubai’s image as a world-class city,” she said.
In just the first half of 2025, RTA received over 6,500 reports through Madinati. The platform also accepts user proposals related to city improvements, making it a two-way communication tool that fosters transparency and urban innovation.
By integrating the Madinati damage-reporting service via WhatsApp chatbot Mahboub, RTA continues to build a responsive digital ecosystem that ensures real-time feedback, fast issue resolution, and public empowerment.
