The UAE led all global markets for Egyptian engineering exports in 2025, with Egypt’s sector reaching a record US$4.187 billion in eight months.
CAIRO: The United Arab Emirates has emerged as the largest market for Egyptian engineering exports in 2025, as the sector sees record-breaking growth driven by regional and global demand. According to the Engineering Export Council of Egypt, under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, exports reached US$4.187 billion between January and August — a 12% increase compared to US$3.746 billion during the same period last year.
May Helmy, Executive Director of the Council, stated that the latest figures highlight growing demand across key markets, with the UAE leading the Arab region in receiving Egyptian engineering products. Other regions showing strong growth include Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
Chairman Sherif El Sayad emphasised that the sector’s performance reflects its ability to remain competitive despite international trade pressures. “This is the highest level the sector has ever recorded in an eight-month period,” he said. He noted that the performance supports the council’s forecast of exports reaching US$6 billion by the end of 2025.
Egypt’s engineering sector includes products such as electrical appliances, cables, transportation components, machinery, and metal products — all of which have seen rising demand from the UAE and other global markets.
The strategic trade partnership between Egypt and the UAE continues to play a vital role in expanding economic cooperation and supporting regional industrial integration. Officials credit ongoing trade reforms, export incentives, and targeted market expansion strategies for the sector’s sustained momentum.
With the current export trajectory, Egypt is positioning itself as a major supplier of engineering goods to both regional partners and international markets, showcasing resilience and adaptability in a dynamic global economy.
