DUBAI: Aster DM Healthcare has officially opened nominations for the fifth edition of the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2026, inviting registered nurses worldwide to submit their entries by 10 November 2025. With a prize of USD 250,000, the award celebrates the often-unseen impact of nurses in shaping the future of healthcare across the globe.
Nurses can apply in their preferred language at www.asterguardians.com, highlighting their work across key areas: Patient Care, Nursing Leadership, Nursing Education, Social or Community Service, and Research, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Applicants may select one primary and up to two secondary areas of contribution.
Since launching in 2022, the award has become one of the most prestigious global honours in nursing, drawing entries from 200+ countries. Last year, the initiative attracted over 100,000 registrations from 199 countries, a 28% increase from the previous cycle. Finalists will be chosen through a transparent, multi-stage evaluation led by Ernst & Young LLP and judged by a global healthcare jury.
The grand ceremony is scheduled for May 2026, in line with International Nurses Day, celebrating the top 10 finalists and announcing the winner. Past winners include nursing pioneers from Kenya, the UK, the Philippines, and Ghana.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, shared: “To empower nurses is to strengthen the soul of healthcare. This award honours their courage and inspires future generations.”
Alisha Moopen, Group CEO, added: “Nurses are transforming lives globally—this award elevates their voices and impact.”
The award continues to evolve into a global movement that recognises nurses not only as caregivers but as changemakers, educators, and innovators who lead from the frontlines.
