DUBAI: The Humanthropy 2025 Awards spotlighted UAE excellence in humanitarian service, with several local organisations and leaders among the top honourees at DIHAD’s 21st edition. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event affirmed the country’s rising global impact.

With 137 nominations from 42 countries, the Humanthropy 2025 Awards reflected the diversity and urgency of today’s humanitarian landscape. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director-General of IACAD, was named Humanthropy Personality of the Year. Meanwhile, ADIB earned the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and Fatma Essa Almheiri was honoured as Emerging Humanitarian Leader.

Other major UAE winners included Emaar Foundation, Dubai Humanitarian, and The Big Heart Foundation. Their work was recognised for strengthening global relief efforts through innovation and sustained support.

A standout announcement was the UAE’s “Operation 300bn,” which aims to grow the industrial sector’s GDP contribution to AED 300 billion by 2031. This strategy ties directly into humanitarian goals, creating a national model for aid manufacturing and supply chain resilience.

Dr. Sonia Ben Jaafar, CEO of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation, was presented the Humanthropy Visionary Award for her foresight in development strategy. Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam Al Madani said, “Directing local production to humanitarian needs opens new markets and empowers our national economy.”

The event concluded with a powerful gesture of collaboration—Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Establishment and Al Jalila Foundation signed an agreement to expand the Nabadat Campaign, offering heart surgeries to children across borders.

With over 18,000 attendees from more than 160 countries, the Humanthropy 2025 Awards capped a globally significant DIHAD conference, underlining the UAE’s pivotal role in future-forward humanitarian leadership.
