DUBAI: The master plan for the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route and the Dubai Countryside & Rural Areas Development Projects aims to enhance Dubai’s rural areas, making them beautiful and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike. Over the next five years, 37 projects and initiatives will be executed under this development plan, focusing on creating unique destinations for nature and adventure enthusiasts.

These projects align with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and seek to develop sustainable natural environments equipped with integrated services. The plan includes five service and recreational stations designed to offer an exceptional tourist experience.

The overall investment in these projects is approximately AED390 million. The objective is to boost tourist numbers from half a million annually to over three million by 2040, thereby enhancing the region’s appeal as a major tourist destination while preserving its unique natural identity.

The master plan will expand the cycling network to 156.61 kilometers and introduce various facilities and activities to enhance the visitor experience. Key features of the plan include the Main Hub Station, which will host a traditional market, an open-air cinema, and luxury camping options, alongside public facilities to accommodate large visitor numbers.

Other stations will provide hot air balloon rides, adventure parks, and cultural experiences at camel farms, all aimed at delivering an integrated tourism experience. The first phase will also introduce 18 new services, including parks, healthcare facilities, and community services.

This comprehensive development plan spans the next 20 years, ensuring that each area retains its identity while improving public services and enhancing the attractiveness of Dubai’s countryside as a tourist destination. The initiatives reflect a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of residents and promoting local produce and tourism.
